Central Baptist Church - “A church at the heart of the city, with the city at our heart!”

Students @ CBC

CBC Students house group

Whether you're a new or returning student, Welcome to Dundee!

We want to help you settle into a church family where you will be deeply cared for and grow in love for Jesus. So the heart of who we are and what we do is relationships.

We grow by walking more closely with Jesus. We grow by being more dependent on and connected with our brothers and sisters. We want to live and speak for Jesus in such a way that non-Christian friends are drawn to him too.

House group

So listing what we 'do' below is never going to give a complete picture, but it may help to show you something of how we will help each other love God and each other more.

Host families: we want students to get to know families in the church, and families to get to know students. Every term you will be invited to share lunch together in someone’s home.

Student homegroup: we meet fortnightly in a home to study the Bible together and pray with each other. We want to grow by seeing Jesus in his word and be changed by God's generous grace.

Sunday chill-out: Sundays can sometimes be lonely days for students, so there are opportunities to hang out together, chat and nibble on tablet.

CAKES!

Sunday lunches: There is such a thing as a free lunch, and we cook one for students on the first Sunday of each month.

Grabbing good teaching together: during the year, we will organise a few Saturday trips together to excellent day conferences happening in Scotland.

Being part of the church family: by joining in with the worship and Bible teaching on Sundays, the prayer meetings (on weeks when there isn't a homegroup), family days, and so on.

Serving the church family: there are many opportunities not just to be a sponge but to grow by giving yourself to others!

High 5!

CBC is close to both Dundee and Abertay Universities, and a short walk from Duncan of Jordanstone.
